PLEASE HELP LUNA

Donation protected
I, Nikki Brink, have created this Go Fund Me to help my kind, caring, and compassionate niece Ashlee pay for the astronomical medical bills for her sweet baby LUNA. Luna came to Ashlee just over a month ago. Ashlee eagerly welcomed her into her home. Little did she know Luna had parvo and as a result a host of medical complications. Luna very quickly became a big part of Ashlee's heart of which little pieces break every day. The vets are optimistic of Luna's recovery. Luna has been in 24 hour emergency care since Friday, September 23rd. My wonderful niece with a giant, kind heart needs our help. Please consider a small donation. Any Donation will help. Nothing is too small.

Luna's story...
Luna was born on May 1st, 2022.
She joined Ashlee's pack on August 27th.
She loves to play with her kitty and canine siblings.
She loves to snuggle & give out puppy kisses.
Luna does the zoomies when you call her Looney Tooney.
Her discharge date is yet to be determined as she barely holds food down.
Luna is currently on several medications, a feeding tube, and an IV.
Luna can recover at home as soon as she keeps solid food down.
Her condition is improving daily.
TODAY the vet said she is getting her pink color back, has eaten a small amount of food, and is behaving like a puppy again. She has the cute butt wiggles & tail wags each time Ashlee is allowed to visit her.
Luna's medical bills are currently at $7,000 and rising with each 24 hour period in emergency care.

FROM ASHLEE... regarding her 1st visit with Luna on Tuesday, and a happy progress report today.

Tuesday September 27th I spoke with a physician that didn’t give me good news, so I went up there as soon as I could. When I got there the tech asked if I was there to visit Luna. I was confused because they told me at the beginning that she was in complete isolation and that it was unsafe to see her. The tech said yes but depending on time of day, the doctor, and how busy they are is the deciding factors. As she goes back to ask, my heart is racing 5000 miles a minute. I hear the door, my legs are shaking, my heart is racing, she looks up says come in and follow me!!!! I’m ecstatic at this point but very nervous for what I’m about to see. I walk back and my baby is laying in her kennel with there machines hooked up to her sleeping peacefully. Once or twice it looked like she was dreaming. While staring at my poor baby through the glass doors, I heard her feeding machine go off not a second later here comes a technician to check on her. Now mind you, they have a dry towel to step on outside of her room and a soaked in bleach towel inside her room to clean your shoes off. This virus is no joke. As the doors open and the tech steps in, Luna wakes up a little. I ask if I can please just say hi to her, I just needed my baby to hear my voice and know that I did not abandon her. As soon as I said “ohh my looney tune” she stood right up, tail going a mile a minute, tongue hanging out. She was a little coughy and sneezy from the nasogastric tube which startled me. I said my good byes ,for her to get some rest and never give up because she’s a FORCE and we don’t give up! Wednesday the 28th I called at 2am to get a quick check up before work. The tech says she's been with Luna almost every night and not sure what happened from tuesday night to today but she is a whole new puppy. I said well, they did let me see her. (I was about to ask them to put a cell phone by her iso room so she would know I didn’t abandon her.). There tech says that must of been it because she’s barking right now, wagging her tail, and making all sorts of noises. She pauses and says you know what, oddly enough she just stopped look up and stared at me when I started talking to you. I said well, my baby misses me. I was told she hadn’t throw up all night or yet that morning. They said they would try to feed her solid food again and see her if she could keep it down. I spoke to the vet around 9am, she said if Luna can keep food down I think she can go home. She said when she walked in to check on Luna that morning, Luna was a whole new pup. So now hearing this from two people I’m becoming hopeful she can come home. I worked until 2 but asked to leave early so I could meet with this vet to go over things. When I arrive at the vet, I’m so so nervous will it be a few more days or will today be the day I get to take her home. The doc comes in and said how do you feel if I bring Luna in here with you and with a very small amount of food, lets see if she will eat, I just want to see if your the special medicine making her spirits better. I am so excited I can barely breathe.. the doctor goes to walk out the tech rushes back in. You won’t believe this Luna is chowing down right now. I couldn’t wait to see her outside of that kennel and glass room. She’s carried in the room to me. There is a comforter on the floor for us to snuggle on. As soon as she sees me she piddles everywhere. Holding her, getting those kisses and being able to tell her that I will always be there for her was the best feeling. They let me sit with Luna for at least 20 Minutes. I didn’t want to say see you later again, but I knew her being there until she’s able to eat was what’s best for her. The doc thinks if she can keep food down she should be able to come home hopefully by Friday which is my birthday! That would make this best birthday by far to have my sweet Luna home with me. This has been so scary, exhausting, terrifying experience I have ever encountered. Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts, prayers, and consideration.
