GOLDEN TREASURES GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE, INC. has been invited to join in the rescue efforts of saving Golden Retrievers who are in dire need of rescuing in the country of Turkey.

You may have heard about the plight of hundreds of Goldens abandoned in Istanbul. It has been in the news and on social media and we have been following this travesty.

In a partnership with Rescue a Golden of Minnesota and Turkish rescuer Yasemin Baban, Golden Treasures Rescue will be traveling to Chigaco May 6, 2016 to bring seven desperate Goldens Retrievers from Turkey to Ohio to start new lives.

We need your help!! Please donate, we are working to bring seven Golden Retrievers home. These dogs will have received medical check ups in Turkey. Each of the dogs get their own passport and a plane ticket, when they reach the States they will be examined again, and brought back to Bath Ohio, any medical issues will be tended to and the dogs will be placed in foster or foster to adopt homes. The cost to get these dogs to their new forever homes will most likely exceed $1,000.00 per dog. Please help us help these dogs.

There are many homeless dogs in Turkey and not enough room in the shelters for all of them. Because there is no shelter euthanasia and few adoptions in Turkey, dogs either live out their lives in a shelter or are put on the streets or in the forests after they are spayed or neutered and given rabies vaccines. But Golden Retrievers don’t survive well on the streets.

WON'T YOU HELP
They are not good pack animals and won’t fight back, so many are attacked by other dogs and their survival depends on people helping them. The National Rescue Committee of the Golden Retriever Club of America supports AGA's effort as there are no Golden Retrievers being put at risk in the U.S. because of this rescue. The Turkish Government and our shelter volunteer colleagues in Istanbul want a better life for these dogs and work with us to make this happen.

Particularly heartbreaking was the sight of a mom and her tiny pups, probably no more than four or five weeks old, huddled on the median of a busy highway.

GOLDEN TREASURES GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE, INC. has been organized for
the purpose of removing Golden retrievers from shelters, and from unwanted and
inappropriate homes; educating the public about responsible dog ownership, providing a
resource for canine owners regarding the proper care and treatment of their dogs;
educating the public about the breed and the need for obedience lessons for all dogs;
encouraging, assisting and providing guidelines to other purebred fanciers to form
rescue programs; and to provide an alternative to euthanization.
Golden Treasures, as a 501c3 non-profit, has been rescuing unwanted and neglected
Golden Retrievers since 2004. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization with no
paid persons. We have a specific process in place to screen and choose the very best
homes for these wonderful dogs. We have a network of wonderful foster homes that
have agreed to take in our rescues, evaluate them, and assist us in making the best
possible matches for both the dog and the new family. In past years, we’ve placed an
average of 100 dogs per year; however, in the past couple years, we, along with other
Golden rescues, have seen a dramatic downturn in intakes
