North Bristol RFC U14 Boys team will be taking on the challenge of hiking the Brecon Beacons in an effort to raise money for much needed playing shirts. The boys started playing tag rugby together from the age of 5 and are now playing 15 a-side competitive rugby.
They've had a fantastic season so far and since starting this fundraiser have become U14’s Junior Combination Cup Champions!!
We are aiming to raise money to fund new team shirts for the boys. Currently there is a wide variety of different looking shirts amongst the team which have been passed on from siblings and other age groups and it would be great to have the whole team wearing the same shirts for their matches.
On Sunday 24th March, the U14's squad along with many parents will hike approximately 11 miles around the Brecon Beacons, climbing a total of 3,000ft to Corn Du, Pen-y-Fan, Cribyn and Fan-y-Big. Although the boys are fit young rugby players, this hike is will be more about endurance and pacing themselves over 5 hours so really will be a team challenge. There is great team spirit amongst the boys so this will give them an opportunity to bond further & support each other.
If we can raise the amount needed to provide new shirts it will really boost their pride and confidence and I am sure they will go on to have many more successful seasons together.
Many thanks for you support!!
