Dear Family, Friends and Community Member. My Name is Benjamin Chavez Munoz. I am a 28 year old married father of seven children between the ages of 2 and 17 from Salem, Oregon. Last Labor Day of September of 2021, my Wife and I decided to visit our Family in San Diego. By the time we got to our destination I was very ill. My Wife and Mother checked me in to Sharp Medical Care Center in Chula Vista. Where I was diagnosed with the COVID Virus (Delta Variant). A few weeks later I was transferred to Sharp Memorial Medical Center in San Diego because I had double pneumonia and had gone into a coma. The virus had completely damaged my lungs. I was connected to an ECOM life support system that has been breathing for me ever since.

My Medical Team recently shared with me that they were recommending me as a prime candidate to be put on the lung transplant list because of my age, fighting spirit to live and family situation .Lung transplants are my only hope. They also suggested that I start a GoFundMe to assist with the very expensive cost of lung transplants.

So I am asking for your prayers, mercy and financial support to my GoFundMe. With your support I will be able to be transported from San Diego to Seattle and be closer to my family, lowering the cost of travel and stay and help pay the high cost of medical bills, doctors, medications, and hospital and lung transplants.

I am aware that my recovery will be a long and heavy journey. But I also know that my entire family is praying for the miracle of live and resurrection for my lungs. Jesus is my Life! Me llamo Benjamin Chavez Muñoz. Vivo en Salem, Oregon y tengo 28 años de edad. Soy casado y padre de siete hijos entre 2-17 años de edad. Durante los días festivos del Trabajador, (Labor Day), del Septiembre pasado 2021, decidímos llevar a la familia a visitar a los familiares en San Diego. Para cuándo llegamos a San Diego ya estaba yo muy enfermo. Mi esposa y madre me llevaron al Centro Medical de Chula Vista dónde me diagnosticarón con Virus Delta COVID. Pocas semanas después fui transportado al Hospital Sharp Medical de San Diego dónde caí en coma, y me pegó pulmonia. El Virus Delta COVID me había destruido los pulmones. Me conectarón al Monitor de Apoyo de Vida, ECOM para que respirará por mi y aun sigoconectado al Monitor de Vida, ECOM,

Recientemente, mi Equipo de Doctores dijo que por mí edad, espiritud de luchar por vivir y mi situación de familia, ellos me recomendaron como un buen candidato para ser puesto en la lista de Transplantes de Pulmones porque esa era mí únicaesperanza! También sugerieron que aplicará por una cuenta de apoyo financiero, GoFundMe porque los transplantes de pulmones son muy caros!
