Salah Sedawi is organizing this fundraiser.
Thanks for stopping by. My name is Salah Sedawi. I am a humble Birmingham man who had the pleasure of befriending an amazing Gazan journalist and hero Nader Abu Alarraj. This is the plea of his heart as well as my own. Please take time to read his story.
================================================================
Dear All,
My name is Nader Abu Alarraj. I am 43 years old. I live with my mother Nawal, my wife Suzan and five beautiful children Ahmed (11), Nawal (10), Rakan (8), Tolyn (6) and Mohammad (4).

I have been working as a journalist, communication engineer as well as in civil society institution since 2013. I love telling the stories of my people and take my job very seriously.

However, during this conflict, I have watched as over hundreds of journalists and friends have lost their lives or the lives of their loved ones while showing the truth of our situation to the world.

My family and I are in a dire need of help as we are enduring multiple hardships and struggling to access basic necessities of life in the war-stricken Gaza Strip, including:
Difficulties obtaining food.
Difficulties accessing clean drinking water.
Difficulties acquiring medicines and proper healthcare.
Difficulties finding shelter or a tent for protection.
Difficulties obtaining clothing, blankets, and shoes.
We are living in constant fear and distress due to frequent displacement from one place to another, driven by the ongoing threat of bombings and violence. Therefore, we urgently appeal for your support and assistance.

My oldest son Ahmed and my daughters Nawal and Tolyn has not been able to attend school and Kg2 in years. Most recently my youngest son Rakan is a disabled and I was hospitalized him for several days due to the harsh conditions here. My wife Suzan needs an urgent operations and medication due to blood cysts. Doctors no longer have the ability to treat her here. Gaza is in crisis. We have neither clean water nor sufficient food, and disease is rampant due to a lack of critical medical supplies

Furthermore, my mother (who is also a heart patient) sadly had two brain strokes. She can’t continue treatment for the same reasons mentioned.

These risks surrounding my family can no longer continue. As I am writing this, the phone lines and internet are down. My heart and soul have crumbled, because I am not being able to provide for my family. It is driving me mad, and the only option left for me to secure their survival by evacuating them out of Gaza.

Now:

I had a wonderful life and a beautiful home in Gaza City which is now little more than an empty shell. The photos below show what’s left following the IDF attack.

During this siege, we have been displaced five times, unable to find rest nor safety anywhere. This is why I plead to you to help raise the funds needed for my family to leave Gaza where they can get the medical treatment needed.
This situation, with all its high risks & great dangers is beyond explanation. Every minute passing by alive is a blessing for my family. But this can change any minute.
You can probably grab a fancy coffee cup for $5 and enjoy it on a bench overlooking a lake in a peaceful park. I can imagine the birds singing in the background mixed with the sounds of kids playing. Such a wonderful atmosphere.
For an additional $5, you can save a family from murder in the worst siege of killing and starvation ever recorded in modern history.
This is my last call to humanity. The choice is yours.
Sincerely Yours,
Nader Abu Alarraj
