We are a frustrated group of Orillia and area residents who have banded together to hold both the City of Orillia and the owners of the Polyethics accountable for failing to fully address the odour and noise nuisance emanating from the Polyethics facility, located at 301 Forest Avenue North.

After almost two years of ineffective response from the City and from Polyethics, the producer of scented plastics, we, the recently formed Simcoe Concerned Residents Association (SCRA) have retained the services of a leading lawyer specialised in environmental and municipal law to assist in addressing our concerns.

Our Application to the Superior Court seeks a Court Order compelling and restraining continued violation of City’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law as it relates to the use of the Polyethics property at 301 Forest Avenue North.

Further, our Application seeks an Order that any officer with the City of Orillia’s Municipal By-Law Enforcement be authorized to take any steps deemed reasonable to prevent uses or activities on the Polyethics property that contravene the Comprehensive Zoning By-Law.
