Nazzy New York vs. Cancer & Homelesness
Donation protected
Last week I was wrapping up a work call with my colleague, Colleen. I mentioned that I saw her Instagram stories and was curious as to what she had been training for. She mentioned that she was training for the New York City Marathon. As the conversation progressed she mentioned that she had two free bibs and was looking for someone to run with. She was in no way looking for me to run with her and given the thought that she had probably seen my Instagram stories too...of bottle service at Tao... there was no shot she thought that I was even remotely a runner.
I'm not. In fact, last week I tried to run a mile and almost passed out.
I’m always up for an extreme challenge, so “let’s do it!”

There was a slight silence…and just like that - the rest is history.
Or, is soon to be history in 42 days.
On November 7th I will be challenging myself to run the New York City Marathon with just 42 days of training under my belt.

YUP. I get it. "You can't just run a marathon."
I've had a lot of fun over the past few days with the chirps and Under/Over on me fainting at mile 15 from the people following along with my training journey on social media. It get's me out of bed so keep em comin! [@Nazz0519 on Instagram]
Make no mistake, New York City - November 7th - 26.2 - I'll see you all in Central Park at the finish line.
Let's go!
I am extremely fortunate to be allowed this opportunity by the generosity of the amazing organization below. I understand people wait a lifetime to qualify and gain entry into the prestigious NYC Marathon and want to give back however I can.

I deeply appreciate all and any support. Half of the donations will go to 'Back on My Feet', who was generous enough to grant me a free bib even though...well... I'm underqualified! Back on My Feet is a national organization operating in 14 major cities across the US that combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources.

As I'm sure is the same for many of you, my family has felt the impact of a loved one going through the daring battle that cancer brings. This organization below is one near and dear to my heart and I've had first hand experience working with the incredible hero's at the Gloria Gemma Foundation throughout college.

So, the other half of donations will go to The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. Their mission is to celebrate and nurture life in our local community before, during and after a cancer diagnosis by providing education, access to wellness resources and support programs to all those touched by cancer.
Let's get it,
