Hi everyone, I'm Leyre Goitia and I am so proud to share that my daughter, Naya, has been accepted to Utrecht University in the Netherlands to study Economics and Business Economics, currently ranked among the top 10 in Europe and 31st globally, Utrecht is the ideal training ground for the vision Naya has for our country, The Bahamas. I'd like to highlight how proud I am of her for coming to Spain knowing practically no Spanish, and still acing her first year of school in Spanish. She is now graduating in her second year and going to her top choice university! The move to Spain was quite a turmoil for us all.

Naya, who has moved between The Bahamas and Europe, has experienced firsthand how economic differences create problems for people because they force them to pay high prices for basic items and they lack dependable public transportation. Naya takes action to solve problems. She recently presented her evidence-based argument to the Spanish government for moving their embassy from Jamaica to the Bahamas, as there exists only a consulate in The Bahamas and there are many more Spaniards/Europeans in The Bahamas. This would be the first European(EU) Embassy located in The Bahamas. Naya plans to study at Utrecht because she wants to gain knowledge that will enable her to work as an economic consultant who will develop a secure public transportation system and advance the national economy of The Bahamas to meet international efficiency standards.
