Help Us Rebuild the Retaining Wall at Ananda Dhiira

My name is Didi Ananda Acira, and I am a nun of Ananda Marga, a global spiritual and service organization. Ananda Dhiira Master Unit is a nonprofit center nestled in the beautiful Sierra Foothills of Northern California. Our mission is to support women’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga, meditation, and holistic living. Ananda Dhiira is close at heart for me as I live here, care for the project and run all activities.

About Ananda Dhiira

At Ananda Dhiira, we offer free yoga and meditation classes, and we strive to create a safe and nurturing space for personal growth and spiritual development. We regularly host wellness events, meditation retreats, and community service programs that empower women and promote ecological harmony.

We also engage in organic farming, plant fruit trees, and care for the surrounding oak forest — recognizing the deep connection between inner peace and our relationship with nature.

Why We Need Your Help

The main building at Ananda Dhiira is located on a hillside, with the septic system installed just beside the house. Years ago, a wooden retaining wall was built to stabilize the elevated ground and protect the septic tank from erosion. That wall is now collapsing, and recent winter rains have begun washing away the soil.

Without immediate repair, there’s a growing risk that the septic system could be exposed and the foundation of the house compromised — putting our programs, community gatherings, and spiritual sanctuary at risk.

Our Goal

We need to build a 50-foot retaining wall to protect the septic system and secure the foundation of the house. The estimated cost for materials and labor is $20,000. We are reaching out to our extended community for support in making this urgently needed project possible.
