Hey! I’m Nen and I'm raising $3,200 for tuition funds for my former host sister Nawal Muhsin’s future to:

Fulfill remaining 50% of tuition fees (other half covered by scholarship) + other university attendance fees by TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6th!!
Be a first generation student and woman in her family to go to University
Lift her and her family up to reach great heights

Nawal is a bright, big dreaming, and dear young woman from Zanzibar, Tanzania. We have JUST A WEEK LEFT to raise her last fees to be the first in her family to go to University!! Details have come together fast and she needs to have funds raised in time on the 6th to send payment and travel to University for September 10th arrival date.

Nawal was my host sister and her family heroically loved and provided for me during a most difficult time, and thanks to their generosity I was able to complete my final requirements while in Zanzibar to graduate college (also a 1st gen college grad!). Help me not only lift up financially and give back full circle to this incredible family, but also lift up a brave young woman into a bigger life than an island can hold for her, and launch her into her dream of attending University and becoming a biotech graduate (rad!)

Funding and scholarships and timelines of pulling it all together can be tough, time sensitive, and even more so as a first-in-family navigating all its trickery. They’ve done the best they can and are calling on help. This is where you come in.

Nawal has received a 50% scholarship to Chandigarh University in Punjab, India* and needs this last push to get her there. Breakdown of needed fundraising costs in USD:

$1,200 for remaining tuition

$1,500 for remaining room and board

$300 for travel to the University

$100 as extra to support other living costs and her family

$100 for GoFundMe fees (if you can, please include 3% + $0.30 to cover fees of each donation. At checkout this is *not a tip, which would got to GoFundMe directly. Rather this would be included in your donation. This way, she will receive the full amount needed. Ex: donating $100 will have a .33 cent fee. $3000 donation = $99.00 in fees.
