My name is John Burgess, I’m 27 years old, and I’m reaching out with something deeply important and personal.

In the summer of 2022, my kidneys failed for the second time and I’ve been on dialysis ever since. The journey has been tough—I’ve gone through chemo for cancer in my lymph nodes (thankfully caught early), battled through a blood transfusion complication, and had multiple surgeries just to keep dialysis working.

Now, in late 2025, I’m finally restarting the process of getting on the kidney transplant list. While I wait, I am searching for a living donor who may be able to give me the chance at a healthier, fuller life. My blood type is O+, which means I can receive from O donors.
