I am Samer from Germany, and I feel deep sadness for this fundraising campaign. However, I launched this campaign to help my friend Eng. Said Alhallaq from Gaza. My aim is to assist him in rebuilding his future and his family's, which was destroyed due to the war in Gaza. This is his message:
Amidst the turmoil and destruction, I find myself grappling with an unprecedented situation and am compelled to reach out to you for your merciful assistance.
Once, my family's life was a near picture of perfection. We enjoyed the tranquility of our warm home nestled in the finest neighborhoods of Gaza City before it turned into a pile of ashes, erasing all its beautiful memories. With the onset of that fateful day on October seventh, our semi-perfect life with my family and my younger brothers turned into a horrifying nightmare. We fled from our beloved home, carrying only our clothes, escaping the fires and bombings, leaving behind memories and all possessions, seeking safety in the south of Gaza.
We fled into the unknown, into displacement camps where cold, anxiety, and a sense of insecurity prevailed. Despite that, we were forced to flee once again to the far south in Rafah, where life is tough and complicated, with no clean water or sufficient food for the young children during these difficult times. We received a series of devastating news, starting with the destruction of our home and our only shelter, as it became unlivable, and then the brutal destruction of the neighborhood in which we live.
then I lost my job as a software engineer in a Gaza company due to the burning of the company’s headquarters.
My sister's husband, Moneer Amer, lost his home, which is located in the most prestigious neighborhoods of Gaza, where he, his wife and children Yamen and Khaled became in displacement camps.
we have lost everything we have, but I refuse to lose the life of my family, who spent half their lives in fear and death. I will do everything I can to provide a safe life for them.
Therefore, I have no recourse but to humbly request your assistance. This fundraising campaign is our only beacon of hope for survival and our sole lifeline amidst the abyss of despair. With a heavy heart, I implore your generosity to help us overcome this incomprehensible ordeal. Your contribution could mean the difference between survival and oblivion for my family, and for this reason, we are forever grateful for any support.
Expense breakdown:
$30,000 for the Rafah crossing permit: $5,000 x 6 individuals: Saeed, his parents, and his two brothers, Alaa and Karim.
Approximately $3,000 to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).
$5,000 to cover basic needs in Egypt including housing, food, transportation, and other necessities.
The remaining funds will be used to help Said rebuild his family's destroyed home, which was crushed by the war
Every contribution, no matter how small, will directly go towards providing Said and his family with the resources they need to rebuild their lives and reclaim their future. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of this brave family and show them they are not alone in their time of need.
Your support means more than you can imagine, and I am incredibly grateful for any assistance you can offer during this difficult time. Thank you for your empathy and generosity. Together, we can make a difference and help my family find the safety, security, and future they need.
Thank you.
