Hope, Light, Connect: NAVI Debate's NICU Support Initiative

Our Mission

Hi! We are NAVI Debate, a community of debaters who believe in using our skills and connections to make a real difference. Beyond competition and argumentation, we're committed to solving community issues through meaningful action.

For years, we've partnered with NYP Hospital in Queens to support families in their most vulnerable moments. This year, we're dedicating our efforts to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) — supporting the tiniest and most fragile members of our community: newborns who need intensive medical care right after birth.

Why the NICU?

Every year, thousands of babies are born prematurely or with medical complications requiring immediate, intensive care. These newborns and their families face not only medical challenges but also emotional and financial strain during an incredibly stressful time.

Parents spend sleepless nights by incubators, hoping and praying for their babies to grow stronger each day. Many families struggle with:

1. Medical expenses and hospital costs

2. Extended hospital stays away from home

3. Emotional stress and uncertainty

4. Lack of essential supplies and comfort items

Our Goal

$3,000 + Letters of Hope goes directly to supporting newborns in the NICU and their families at NYP Hospital in Queens.

1. Essential medical supplies for NICU babies

2. Comfort items for parents during long hospital stays

3. Support resources for families navigating this difficult journey
