In October 2022, Naveya (12) was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a terminal brain and cancerous spinal tumor. Naveya is a high honors student who lives with her mother, Fernanda, and sister, Brielle (9). Naveya has had surgeries to remove 70% of the tumor, a shunt installed due to fluid buildup in her brain, and has just finished six weeks of radiation. Because of the treatment's intensity and the cancer's aggressiveness, her scalp and back were burned. The doctors have done everything they can and have given Naveya less than a year to live. Needless to say, this is the most devastating and life-changing news for Fernanda, a single mother, and the rest of the family have ever received.

We want to keep hoping and believing that Naveya can live longer with alternative treatments available in the United States. Naveya means everything to her mother, sister, and father, Sharond, who is deeply involved in their lives.
