Navas & Associates Fire Recovery
Friends, colleagues, and artisans,
We are calling for the support of Navas and Associates, a long-standing procurer of custom drapery and textiles, as they have recently suffered an insurmountable loss. The company experienced a devastating fire on August 13th at their main headquarters in Panorama City, CA. The fire and consequential damage have left their entire facility compromised and they will not be able to step foot into this space ever again. Their 20-year workspace, office, tools, and commissioned works in progress have been lost in a matter of moments. Without these resources, there is no potential for income in the near future. The fire had started in their neighboring facility and carried into their warehouse. Due to complications with insurance, the company will have to undertake recovery out of their own pockets. Understandably, this will add to the great emotional, physical, and financial stress already being faced by this small business.
Edgar came to this country when he was 14, escaping the civil war in El Salvador. He's worked since then through many different fields and in 2001, decided to open his own business; starting from a home garage. This vision has since grown into a 1200 sq. ft unit, to then a 4,000 sq. ft unit. He's worked very hard to get to this point and now this is why it is so painful to see everything converted to rubble.

It is in these moments that our continued commitment to small, local businesses is imperative. No one can start from scratch alone. We stand with Edgar, his family, and trusted staff, and ask you to do the same as they look for a new home for Navas and Associates here in Los Angeles.
