Navajo Family Desperate for Water and Electric
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
This effort is to make a big difference for my sister and her family. My sister Elfreda King and her family (3 daughters/husband) live on the Northern part of the Navajo Nation without running water and electricity in their home for over 15 years. They either have to haul water or bring water back from our parents’ home for cooking/washing and drinking water. Now with the coronavirus pandemic easily spreading from single exposed person to the whole family, my sister and her family are at high risk of catching the virus without clean running water. Her home is able to connect to a water line and electric but she can’t afford it due to her low income. This Go Fund Me will contribute toward connection for water line and electricity.
Elfreda lives about 75 yards from our elderly parents. She has been going daily to our parent’s home to care and take them to their medical appointments, since she lives in New Mexico closer to them. My siblings and I reassign in Arizona and due to the Navajo Nation Curfews daily and weekends, we are unable to visit them as before due to the COVID19 outbreak.
Currently, her electricity is run by an electric cord from my parents’ home so she can have some light in her home. However, she has no connection to water inside her home. I know a lot of families are in the same situation as my sister on the Navajo Nation. But many people living in remote area don’t even have access to water nor electric line to connect to. I know the cost is very high due to location of the residence if they should want water/electric in their home.
Your generosity and kind donations will go directly to connect water and electricity for my sister Elfreda King and her family home. I love my sister and family very much. With the COVID19 on our Navajo Nation spreading wide and quick, I don't want my sister and her family to be exposed just because they don't have water in their home.
I appreciate your time and thank you again.
