On Monday, June 20th was my Bestfriend/Boyfriends @xanuelnava 23rd birthday. After having an eventful weekend to celebrate another year of his life, we woke up to sounds of glass breaking near our apartment. Only to find out the room window next to us had shattered due to a fire breaking out. There was a guy near the pool yelling, “There’s a fire, get out!”. Immediately we had nothing else in mind but to get our dog, call 911 and wake everyone around us to get out. Especially my cousins since they live on the other side of where the fire was. We had no time to go back and gather anything as the fire expanded rapidly. I called 911 at around 7:40am and they arrived moments later. By 8am there was over 70+ firefighters on site and by this time our whole building ( 16 units ) was on fire. There’s no words to explain this, as i’m still trying to process it all. My heart goes out to everyone involved in the fire and those of us who lost everything. Despite everything lost, we are blessed to have all made it out alive. We are grateful to have saved the few things that we could. These past two days have been a struggle mentally and physically just trying to figure out and cope with our next step. Thank you to everyone who has already helped and to those i have not yet responded to asking what they can do to help. Right now, anything and everything helps.
