It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Shawna Nausley. Shawna was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. She touched the lives of so many and it’s our turn to give back to her family in their time of need. We are raising money to cover the costs of medical bills, as she had several extended hospital stays, and memorial service costs for Shawna’s family as this passing was completely unexpected.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 17 years, Donnie; son: Levi; parents Gary and Sandi (Daniels) Butler; sister: Nicole Noel (Shane); nephews: Blake Noel, Brad Noel, Bailey Noel, Mikey Brown (Chris), Jesse Brown, and Austin Ayers; niece Tina Vorse (Jared); great nephew Wyatt Vorse; mother-in-law Pat Nausley; sister-in-law, Donna Harrington (Keith) and Dianna McKeon (Kyle); aunts, uncles, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will also be missed by her work family at Health Care Authority.
She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Donald Nausley, Sr. and her beloved pets, Rocky and Zoey.
Shawna was born on April 8, 1980 in Olympia Washington to Gary and Sandi (Daniels) Butler. She was raised in Olympia and graduated from North Thurston High School in 1998. She married the love of her life on November 6, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada and gave birth to her only son, Levi on May 4, 2003. She dedicated her life to her family! She took great pride in being a mom and wife. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, decorating, and being crafty. Her Sundays during football season were reserved for her Seahawks. She was passionate about music and shared this love with her father. She was a night owl and was common to find her jamming to her play list at 2:00am while cleaning. Shawna’s love of comedy and travel was evidenced by their frequent trips to Vegas which earned her the nickname of “Little Vegas”.
Shawna began her state career in January 2000 while moonlighting at the Ritz Cleaners. Early in her career she worked briefly for both Department of Licensing and Department of Labor & Industries, and for a couple of years for the Department of Ecology before finder her career-home in the Medicaid program at the Department of Social and Health Services. She later transferred to Health Care Authority during the Medicaid merger in July of 2011 and finished her career in the Financial Services as a Medical Assistance Specialist.
