Support our Naughty Tortie (Holly) Vetinary Fees

Hello Everyone!

And welcome to my GoFundMe page, I have created this campaign in hopes to raise as much money as possible to help with diagnoses costs of my husbands best friend. We have owned Holly since a kitten, and she has always been such a little ball of energy. Even now, with this unknown illness, she remains in super positive spirits demanding cuddles and attention whenever suits her.

Holly has not always been a poorly kitten until around four years ago when she started vomiting uncontrollably. It was at this point we started an extremely long stint of trips back and forth to the vets. She was put on medication to suppress vomiting, given jab after jab with various antibiotics/ medication, and they told us to monitor her closely when returning home. The situation continued for a while with tests and other trials of medication. Until one evening, and she took a turn for the worse. I awoke in the early hours of the morning to find her in an unconscious state at the end of our bed - she was limp and cold to the touch, I felt a veil of panic rush over me and acted quickly to get her into the vets as soon as I could!

Once at the vet's, Holly was taking from me and rushed off behind closed doors - I thought I had lost her at this point not knowing if I had acted quickly enough! They told me to return home and wait for an update on Holly's health. I felt terrible returning home without my baby(my husbands best friend) it was not until hours later I was able to visit Holly, they informed me she was not eating seemed very weak and had lost all interest in anything. We arrived to find Holly hooked up to all sorts of the machine and drips my heart broke for her. However, despite all of this, she could not have been happier to see us!

She's a little fighter!

She remained at the vets for around a week until she was strong enough to come back home. At this point, they suggested as nothing came back positive, she may have had some form of an allergic reaction. Possibly to something in her diet or something she had picked up outside of her environment. Since all of this, Holly has had a massive shift in diet and medication, which we gradually managed to ease off. Keeping her on a hypoallergenic diet seemed to work well for a few years until recently, she started vomiting again and swallowing awkwardly. Holly has my local vets stumped, and they've examined her for every illness under the sun. She's had X-rays, ultrasounds and visuals while under anaesthetic with little rhyme or reason to her condition there is no more they can do. She is currently on ranitidine twice a day and her medical diet to maintain her weight and keep her comfy when this is no longer the case. I'm not sure what I will do.

The vets have offered a referral to another veterinary group in Bristol, which has access and more resources in finding an underlying condition for all of these issues Holly has been experiencing. Its an offer with enormous, costly consequences which I wholeheartedly would like to go through with but will struggle to find the funds upfront. Unfortunately due to previous claims on these conditions, Holly's insurance will no longer assist, which is why I have come here to tell you lovely people of GoFundMe Holly's story. In the hopes of raising some supporting funds for her, and get all of this resolved for her once and for all. She has been through so much.
