Your contribution will help us find land, purchase supplies, establish our camping and glamping sites, develop unique experiences, and create a welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.

As a part of this vision, we plan four types of accommodations:

Tent Camping Sites: Bring your own camping gear.

For You Tent Camping: We provide and set up everything for you. This is for individuals, couples, and families who want to tent camp without the burden and expense of buying and packing everything.

Glamping: Bell Tents, Yurts, and Domes.

Vintage Campers

In addition to accommodations, we want to offer experiential events, from maker workshops to weddings to family reunions.

The name, A Candlelit Forest, reflects the serene ambiance of candlelight in the woods, inspired by the sparkle of sunlight on the forest floor. This concept was born during a hike in the Redwood National Forest, where one of our founders envisioned creating a space that captures the magic of nature. The idea evolved further when the founder noticed the similar effect of fireflies back home in Iowa. This led to the conceptualization of Firefly Jamboree, an annual event at A Candlelit Forest featuring makers, live music, and food trucks. We hope to host the first Firefly Jamboree in 2026, offering a unique experience that celebrates the beauty of nature and community.

Meet our founders: Tricia Rivas and Mel Guanci have been friends for eight years and share a love for camping and community. They are passionate advocates for creating meaningful experiences and caring for other people.
