Our beloved Natty Malpica injured her face in a freak-accident on April 19th. She has traumatic nerve damage, a severe concussion, and over 40 stitches to her forehead and eyebrow. Natty is on state insurance, and we all know the current status of healthcare in our country right now, so we also know that someone of her means cannot completely cover the cost of her inevitable care.
So far, Natty has been working with plastic surgeons in Medford, OR to ensure they can repair the nerve damage so she can regain and maintain use of her right eyebrow and eyelid. Some of the procedures and visits are not covered by OHP (Oregon Health Plan). Depending on the quality of care and ability of the physicians in Medford, Natty may have to travel to Portland, OR to have Frontal Branch Nerve Repair surgery. This includes travel cost and accommodations during surgery and recovery. We are trying to do what we can to soften the financial blow, and make her recovery stress-free and as productive as possible.
Natty has always, and will continue, to step out for her friends. She offers more than what she has to ensure we are taken care of, happy, and safe. I know I'm not the only one who has been personally cared for and loved by Natty. She does so much for us, now it's time for us to step up and help her in her time of uncertainty and fear. Let's show this girl we've got her back.
Love you, Natty. NFA <3
