Nat's Independence Transport Fund

Our colleague Nat has had a rough trot this year.  They say things come in threes and we thought Nat had a clean slate for the rest of 2017.  That wasn’t to be the case.  It started with a broken foot which took some time to diagnose and was treated with a moon boot.  Wearing the moon boot put Nat’s back out and she had to dispose of the boot and replace it with a back brace.  Not long after that Nat had a scary episode where she was taken by ambulance to hospital where they detected her heart was stopping quite regularly and they swiftly inserted a Pacemaker.  Still coming to terms with joining the Pacemaker Club, Nat recently had a turn resulting in another 000 call.  This time she was diagnosed with Epilepsy.  Nat is being treated and monitored but the real kicker is not being able to drive for the next six months.  Friends and colleagues will assist with lifts but Nat and her husband Al don’t have family nearby that they can call on to regularly lend a hand. 

We’d like to assist Nat with transport and as much as friends can help out, it can be difficult to ask without thinking you’re being a burden.  We’ve set up a Gofundme account so if Nat wants to go to the supermarket, attend that appointment, get to and from Yoga, she can by booking an Uber or taxi.

We’d appreciate any donation, no matter how big or small to try and cover some transport for the next six months.  We think $2000 would cover it. Being a social butterfly, we’d love to assist Nat with keeping her life as close to normal as possible (all things considered).  Nat knows as much as anyone that life can take twists and turns and we should all live life to its fullest.
