Lost their Business in Family Fire
Donation protected
For 40 years, the Nation family has operated Flatbush Hardware — providing the neighborhood with tools, locksmith services, housewares, home improvement advice, referals to tradespeople, and smiles.
But on 1/21/15, a four-alarm fire gutted the brownstone that housed their business. Three apartments were destroyed. Nine people were hospitalized and a close friend, Bassam Awad, died.
Today, the Nation family is in limbo. During this tragedy, their hearts go out to the Awad family, even while they struggle to imagine rebuilding their business.
We, the neighborhood, would like to support the Nation family in this effort.
Thank you for whatever you can do.
