Help Kayla achieve her NatGeo dream

Photography is my passion. It is my life. Each photograph I take captures a moment in my life that I will never experience again, and I want to remember those moments forever.

My name is Kayla Menzie. I am twenty-two years old and a senior photojournalism student at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, with three semesters remaining before I will graduate.

It is my dream that someday I will be on the staff of National Geographic Magazine, and going on a Photography Workshop in Santa Fe, NM with one of their photographers is a giant step. To be able to have this experience, learn from a professional and make these connections with people in the spot I want to be in would mean more to me than anyone could ever understand.

I have done a photography internship with a local baseball team and I work at a TV station on my campus. I will be doing another photography internship with a local arts and entertainment magazine this summer. I have also done a lot of networking and met a lot of people who have helped me in my journey to where I am today.

Being a full-time student in a state other than my home state (Michigan) has taken a toll on me financially. Almost every penny I earn goes toward my housing, food and bills. After graduation, student loan payments will be added as well. This doesn't leave much left over to save up for my trip of a lifetime. The trip itself is about $2,600. I would also need money for food, airfare and emergency money.

That is why I am coming to you. If you would be willing to help me achieve this dream and giant step toward my goal, I will never forget your kindness and generosity.
