Help a Midwifery Student Reach the ACM National Conference

Hello all you beautiful people!

I know this might seem a little out of the blue. I’m not someone who usually asks for help, and I’ve always tried to figure things out on my own. But an incredible opportunity has come up that will help shape not only my studies, but also my future as a midwife, and I need a little support to make it happen.

The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) holds a national conference each year, and this year it’s in Darwin! It’s a 3-day event filled with workshops, hands-on learning, and the chance to connect with some of the most experienced and inspiring midwives from all over the country.

This conference would be a massive step in expanding my knowledge, understanding, and passion for midwifery. It means learning directly from the people who’ve helped keep this beautiful profession alive and thriving for decades.

Unfortunately, as a full-time student (with a side of noodles and Weet-Bix ), my financial situation makes it really tough to afford something like this. Between uni costs, placement commitments, and not being able to work (thanks to antenatal/postnatal appointments, births, and classes at uni), saving for this trip is a huge challenge.

The total cost will be around $1,500. This is for flights, accommodation, and registration, not including any other costs (food, a nice outfit, transport, etc.). I’m hoping to use my tax return and save as much as I can before September, but realistically, it’s going to be a stretch.

If you’re in a position to help, even just a little, it would mean the absolute world to me. And if not, that's okay too (prices in this economy are brutal!). Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting not just me but the future of midwifery.
