National Final U14 South London vs Manchester

South London district schools football, selects boys and girls from Southwark, Lambeth and Wandsworth schools. All staff and coaches are volunteers and the players involved are not charged any fees, kits are provided and travel to games are funded by SLDSF, which gives disadvantage kids the opportunity to play football at top level competitions, which they may not be able to access otherwise.

South London district’s aim is to provide a platform to support kids who are passionate about football, the opportunity and exposure to access academy clubs with the hope to becoming a professional footballer.

This season our U14 team have done extremely well, some would say they’ve made history by progressing through to two finals, the ESFA Nationals Champions Cup and South East England Eagles Cup. It is a great achievement but due to the amount of games we have played and the distance of travel to the games, it has cost us a lot financially.

In the quarter finals of the Nationals we played away to Poole & East Dorset so we had to travel 110 miles. In the semi final we played away Aldershot & Farnborough and we travelled 44 miles.

On Sunday 12th May we play Manchester district in the final of the Nationals. The Nationals is the biggest district competition, with districts throughout the country competing. South London district have won it 3 times in their history, last time in 1987 and last in the final 2012. The final will be played at Stoke City Stadium, which is 161 miles away. We would like to hire a coach so players, football coaches and parents can attend and travel to and from the match.

Due to the high cost of hiring a coach, we would be grateful for any donations to support with the team being able to successfully attend the final.
