National Competition Funding for Hanna Allen
Donation protected
I am Hanna Allen, a current Junior attending attending an inner city school in Phoenix. I have been an active member of my high school's Olympic Weightlifting Team for 3 years. Now I have a chance to compete Nationally in the sport I love, but I am unable to compete as a part of my school, so I need help funding the trip.
I found my interest in weightlifting early in my Freshman year of highschool. My yoga teacher had encouraged me to join the club, as my family was going through hardships and he knew the Weightlifting club took in struggling kids to give them a home. At first, I was reluctant and intimidated by those stronger than me, however through commitment and grit I've grown to love the club. I have gained a supportive community, mental stability, and more strength than I could imagine.
I don't enjoy asking for help, however this sport has taught me to become more vulnerable and accepting of assistance. My family has currently been struggling to keep up on bills with my dad and myself employed. My mother has a spine condition that disables her from keeping a job. I have already been able to save almost 1,000 by myself, however now I am looking to my community in hopes of help. Thank you to those who read this far and are able to share or donate. Everything helps.
