National American Miss 2024 State Pageant

Hello!

If you are not already a member of my beautiful village of family and friends, then I am excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Jordan Marie Finley. I am a 22-year-old student from San Diego, California studying at Stanford University.

The first pageant I ever competed in was with National American Miss (known affectionately as NAM,) when I was around just 9 years old! The pageant system grew into the I Am Pageant Powerhouse, and in 2022 I was invited back for the 20th Anniversary. I placed in the Top 10 as a Top Overall Finalist and qualified to compete at the International Junior Miss pageant, where I held the 2022-2023 IJM Title for Miss California.

After a hiatus from pageantry as I was home helping to care for our mother who passed away this October, family and friends reached out to encourage me to compete again, supporting the continuation of my childhood dream of being a National American Miss titleholder.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Performance Studies with a Concentration in Acting and a Minor in Creative Writing from Leland Stanford Junior University. I am a member of the 2021 Transfer Cohort, and my mother, a fellow Stanford Cardinal, was a member of the 1975 Transfer Cohort. I am a sister of Chi Omega Sorority, a member of Ram's Head Theatrical Society and the Stanford Light Opera Company, a Chair of the Stanford Viennese Ball, and a member of The Recording Academy's Grammy U Program.

I stand on a platform of arts activism, body positivity, and suicide prevention in memory of my friend Katie Meyer. I hope to show others ways to find grace and strength in grief and continue to achieve my goals with the eternal love of my mother, Vellet Wyatt Finley.

The dates for the Miss California pageant are July 13th-15th, and this year's registration fee is $650. Optional Contests are $150 each, and I hope to compete in the Talent, Spokesmodel , and Top Model contests ($400). This places my total fundraising goal for registration at $1,145. I plan to cover expenses through my part-time job as a nanny for required headshots, pageant coaching sessions to prepare for the competition, and other needs that come with pageant week prep and travel.
