Nathan Tyler's Recovery

On May 22, 2016 Nathan was in a horrible ATV accident; just another fun Sunday afternoon of riding motorcycles and four wheelers with the kids in Myakka, however this time wasn't one of those normal days.
Seconds after the accident occured, I received a frantic phone call from Nathan's daughter, telling me to come as soon as I could, becuase her dad wrecked the four wheeler; at the same time, Nathan's sister had called 911 for EMS to come to the house. After the EMS assessed him, aside from feeling beat up from the wreck, his vitals were ok, so Nathan sent them on their way. It was not until two hours later, Nathan started feeling weak, throwing up, dizzy, and couldn't even stand up. At that point, I forced him into the car and drove like crazy to Lakewood Ranch hospital.
By the time I got him to the hospital, the nurse had to pick him up out of the car and put him on a gurney. Once they rolled him back into the ER, Nathan was ghoust white, ice cold, and sweating all over his body; his BP plumitted to 54/36; he was bleeding out internally. Given that Lakewood Ranch is not a trauma center, the nurses and doctors stabilized him, put him in an ambulance, and transported him to Blake.
At Blake, they gave Nathan blood transfusions, and immediately prepared him for surgery. Unfortunately, when the cardiologist went into his kidney, it was ruptured beyond recognition, and they had to shut it down. After surgery, it was off to ICU for recovery. Then, another brick wall; the pain was not subsiding, and he would not stop throwing up; so once again, off to surgery he went. They cut him open from the bottom of his rib cage to just past the bottom of his belly button, in hopes to find out if there was anything that was missed, or something else that may have been damaged; although, everything appeared to be intact. So they stapled him up, and put a tube up his nose, and down his throat, to keep him from throwing up.
After eight long days of being in the hopital, Nathan was done , and wished for the comforts of home; so, as he wished, to home he went. Over the next three weeks, he was in and out of the ER, due to the unbearable pain and nausea. Sadley, the ER would just stablize him, and send him home. Finally, after the fourth week in, his Nephrologist directed him to go to Manatee Memorial, so that they could drain the blood pocket from around his right kidney; unfortunately, the trauma surgeon at Manatee Memorial was not comfortable with having to do an emergency surgery, if Nathan's blood pressure got too low during the night, so once again, he was transported to Blake Hopsital.
At Blake, it was determined he was still bleeding from his right kidney, so they sent him back to surgery, and inserted more coils to ensure the kidney was shut down, and would not bleed any more. After this particular surgery, he was in the most pain over this whole period of time, since the accident; the cardiologist did inform the pain would be alot worse before it got better; however, I don't think he was prepard for how intense it would be; they put him on a morphine pump. He gets to pull the trigger every ten minutes, but it barely puts a dent in the pain factor.
Today is June 18, 2016, and I suspect Nathan is going to have a very long road to recovery. Most everyone knows, Nathan is a very caring and helping person. He is now in a position, where he is the one that will need the help. He has already been out of work for a month, and there is really no telling how much longer he will be out of work for. Nathan is so very thankful for all the little things his freinds and family have done; like taking time out of their day to visit him, bringing, snacks, lunches, dinners; all of the people in Nathan's life are so very special in all differnet ways.
With Nathan having ZERO income coming in, we were going to file for short-term disability, just until he was back on his feet, and able to go back to work; however, just yesterday, we found out that Florida, does not offer short-term disability. SO, I (Nathan's "Wife") am setting up this Go Fund Me account on his behalf. All the monies will help go toward paying his bills. Any little donation would help, and would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thank you so very much for everyone's support.
