Nathan's Hope: Beat Sickle Cell and Cancer
Donation protected
Nathan is just 16 years old, and already, he’s spent more time in hospital beds than classrooms. Born with sickle cell disease, his life has been full of pain, limitations, and stolen moments. But despite the odds, Nathan was a joyful, vibrant child. He found hope and identity on the basketball court, known by everyone as “the shooter”—small but mighty, with a heart twice his size.
Even when his condition forced frequent breaks during games, he kept showing up, kept pushing, kept believing.
Then came the heartbreak: his hips began to fail. One surgery. Then another. His basketball dreams faded. Still, Nathan pushed forward.
Earlier this year, he was accepted into a promising clinical trial to treat his sickle cell disease—a turning point we’d prayed for. We were one week away from traveling to Tennessee when everything came crashing down.
Nathan was diagnosed with osteosarcoma—a rare and aggressive bone cancer in his right knee.
Everything stopped.
Now, instead of preparing for his high school prom, walking the stage with his diploma, or practicing for his driver’s license—Nathan is enduring months of intensive chemotherapy. The dreams every teen looks forward to have been postponed yet again.
We’re raising funds to help bring a little light and hope back into Nathan’s world. Your support will help us with:
• Travel and medical costs not covered by insurance
• Creating meaningful experiences during and after treatment
• Helping Nathan reclaim a sense of normalcy—with things like a future car, education plans, or simply moments of joy
Your generosity will not only ease our burden—it will give Nathan something to smile about in the midst of the hardest fight of his life.
If you can’t donate, please share. Every bit of love helps.
Thank you for being a part of Nathan’s journey.
