Hello, my name is Jade Rodriguez. On Tuesday, June 24th, my brother Nathan Rodriguez experienced a life-threatening medical emergency. He suffered a severe seizure that led to immediate hospitalization. Once there, he began having multiple, back-to-back seizures, forcing doctors to sedate and intubate him—he is currently on a ventilator to help him breathe.

Our local hospital couldn’t provide the level of care he urgently needed, so he was airlifted to a specialized hospital in Charlotte. As of today, Friday, June 27th, Nathan remains unconscious and unresponsive to basic commands. He’s still on the ventilator, and we don’t yet know when he’ll wake up.

This is an incredibly frightening time for our family, but the impact is especially hard on Nathan’s wife, Kelsey, and their two young children, ages 2 and 4. Kelsey is a stay-at-home mom, and Nathan is the sole provider for their household. With him in the hospital, their financial stability is now at serious risk—from daily expenses like food and travel, to mounting bills and future lost income. Along with these, medical bills will be tremendous and unfortunately, he doesn’t have medical insurance.

If you know Nathan, you know he’s the kind of person who never asks for help. He’s hardworking, humble, and always ready to support others. But right now, he can’t advocate for himself—so I’m doing it for him.
