Nate's fight to WALK again!!

It is with complete shock and sadness that the Michael family bonds together to announce the devastating news that our amazing brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson and dear friend was severely injured on April 1st while in Ft. Myers, Florida.  

Nathan’s brother Matt, received a call late Saturday night stating that Nathan had dove into a pool, breaking his neck and fracturing his C5 vertebrae. Upon arrival at the hospital, he underwent a 5 hour surgery which saved some the nerves around the vertebrae and by the grace of God, giving us some glimpse of hope. Nathan has some movement in his fingers and arms but remains completely paralyzed from the waist down at Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL.  

Unfortunately, Nathan did not have insurance at the time because of the nature of his consulting work so the cost of the procedure and care is overwhelming by any standard. In addition, we were informed that the cost to transport him to a hospital in Louisville or Indianapolis will cost over 9 thousand dollars and we want and need him to be close as soon as possible.

The Michael family is doing anything possible to raise awareness, and of course money, to help cover Nathan’s medical expenses and transport as quickly as possible.
Regardless if you are unable to contribute, we ask that you please keep Nathan and our family in your thoughts and prayers as we bond together to overcome this most difficult obstacle in our lives.Finally, please feel free to check back here as often as you would like as we will do our best to provide updates on his progress, pictures, and goals that we are certain he will accomplish each and every day.
