Intensive Stutter Therapy for Nathan

Hi, I'm Whitney, Nathan's wife. If you're lucky enough to know Nathan, you understand that there are not enough words for me to adequately describe him, but I'm going to try. He is selfless. He is the kind of guy who would do anything to help. He is an amazing father to our kids and a loving husband. He is an extremely hard worker. He is so smart; he obtained his bachelor's degree while working full time and working 60 hours a week! He is strong and capable. He is so kind. Unfortunately, he also has a severe stutter. Stress makes the stutter worse, and stuttering causes him stress—the cycle continues.

These past few years have been increasingly difficult for him to express himself. Not only is it frustrating mentally, but it also poses a physical struggle. He has dental issues due to the compression caused by speech blocks, frequent migraines, and constant jaw pain. The stutter frustration list is a mile long. His career has also been challenging, as the stutter holds him back and affects his confidence. Public speaking is especially difficult. Even fluid speakers get nervous about it.

He has expressed interest in attending intensive therapy called the McGuire Program. Unfortunately, this is not covered by insurance. Our only roadblock is that the treatment is expensive, and there will be travel costs associated with it if he can attend, as it is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are going through a tough season right now, but I want to make this happen for him. Typically, asking for help in this way is something I would never do; we are capable on our own. Right now, though, we could really use your help.
