On behalf of Nathan Alec “Nae Nae” Slemmons, we’d like to start a Go Fund Me for Marissa Lutz and the continuance of the future they had planned together.

Nathan and Marissa met at powerlifting practice back in 2016. They quickly became inseparable and would strive to push one another to be a better version of themselves. They competed against one another to see who could squat more; Marissa would push Nathan to turn in his homework. Nathan would push Marissa to go to college…and actually, finish!

They became engaged in November of 2020, making plans for a wedding, moving into their own apartment, and the possibility of a family once Marissa finished college and her Collegiate Powerlifting Career.

On Sunday, June 13, 2021…all those plans came to a halt. Nathan passed away in a terrible accident, leaving Marissa to pick up the pieces and figure out how to move on after 5 years together.

The plan was always for Marissa to finish college and her collegiate career. If they were going to get anything right, it would be that she would fulfill her dreams in powerlifting, and they would do everything possible for that to happen. Nathan would provide and support in any way he could. Whether it was to help pay for school, drive 12-14 hours to help Marissa move in and out of dorms, and supported her with the hardest sacrifice of a long-distance relationship during the school year & season, he staying to work in Texas while Marissa attended school in Nebraska. One thing they would get right is her finishing school and obtaining a college degree.

We’re creating this Go Fund Me on behalf of Nathan for Marissa to continue with their college dreams and honor him in giving this last push of support.

If you feel inclined to give, even the smallest amount, it would be greatly appreciated. Marissa is completely beside herself at the moment, but she wants to finish school in honor of Nathan. That’s what they have been working hard towards these last 2 years together before life could ‘start’ for them. Let's help Nathan lift her one last time.
