With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Nathan on March 3, 2024. Nathan was born with Down syndrome and autism as well as other health challenges, but his life was defined by his indomitable and determined spirit, infectious grin and laughter, and his special ability to make unique connections with people.
Despite facing challenges, Nathan's warm nature and mischievous sense of humor touched the hearts of everyone he met. Though he couldn't always express himself verbally, his personality and opinions shone through just as bright.
Nathan's journey through life led him to The Aurora School, where he received unparalleled love and support from dedicated professionals. He was honored as the focal student at the 2018 Arc of Loudoun Celebration Gala. In August of 2021, he proudly graduated with his high school diploma in Applied Studies, a testament to his determination and perseverance as well as the commitment of the wonderful team of educators.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, playfulness, and resilience that will be cherished by his family and all who loved him. Though Nathan may no longer be with us here, we are comforted knowing that his struggles are over and he is at peace with the One who created him, reunited with his grandparents. Loving him and caring for him has left an eternal mark on our hearts. His spirit and memory will continue to remind us of the importance of adaptability, finding joy in every moment, and practicing patience through hard times.
This GoFundMe is being established to assist the family with funeral and memorial expenses. Thank you so much for your support, please continue to keep Nathan’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
