Nathan's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Nathan Jackson is a Sumter Players Inc. (SPI) staple. If you're not familiar with Americus, SPI is the local community theater. Nathan loves the theater and the audience loves him.
On Monday, April 29th, Nathan and the rest of the cast of SPI's spring production of Love, Sex, and the IRS were rehearsing. Nathan took a tumble and seemed to be okay except for a sore wrist and knee. As the rehearsal continued, he became increasingly symptomatic. Emergency medical services were called. Nathan was eventually airlifted to Macon to undergo surgery to remove a clot from his brain. During his treatment in Macon, he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Today, Wednesday 5/1, he is alert and oriented, still in the ICU, and preparing to begin treatment for CML. He and his family are not yet sure what the treatment plan will look like. We will update the goals of this page as more information is available. We know that Nathan will have significant medical expenses, will be unable to work for some period of time, and his family will incur travel and lodging expenses throughout his treatment. Please consider giving to this family who gives their time so freely to this community through theater.
