Nathan Griffen’s Cancer Journey

UPDATE
The support has been so appreciated from all our family and friends we see you we feel your love!!!
As many people know CANCER is cruel and cancer can spread in some cases quicker than others - in ours, dad’s has done exactly that.
Dad’s NSCC stage 4 Lung cancer has spread to his Ribs, Adrenal Gland & the MRI has shown 3 sightings in his brain- very small but there.
Dad is currently having treatments of Pembrolizumbah - Which takes 6hrs to administer each treatment as well as Paclitaxel, Carbonation -these he has every 3 weeks administered over an 8hr course. As you can imagine these days are very draining for him, the last months have been the hardest, finding the energy to get out of bed to go to the toilet for him is equivalent to us undergoing a full body workout.
We are awaiting another scan to re stage his cancer with hope the treatment has been doing something.
Despite this, anyone that knows dad knows he is a fighter and will always give everything his all.
Please continue to share and donate - we need our community’s support more than ever. ❤️
——————————————————-
Hi everyone, my name is Tanesha.
My dad’s name is Nathan Griffen.
Dad was a healthy man, supporting his family and trying to make every moment of his children’s life count.
Towards the end of July 2023 dad went to the doctors to see about some pain he was suffering in his left shoulder. On the 1st August a large mass was located in dads left rib cage growing into his shoulder where it was later determined on the 10th August to be Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Metastatic Lung Cancer that has spread into his lymph nodes.
This illness is incurable.
Dad is not only a father to 4 children, but a poppy “boppy” to a beautiful little princess, A husband to a loving wife, a big/little brother to 6 siblings, a uncle, a cousin and a mate to many.
After facing 5 weeks of radiation put into 5 days & his first round of chemotherapy,
Dad was recently admitted to ICU with Sepsis Pneumonia and we were told he wouldn’t survive the week. Weak yet fighting with every short breath, dad celebrated his 44th birthday and watched his eldest daughter walk down the aisle in the ICU Courtyard.
Against all odds, dad made it through the week and is still here with us today.
Although dad is facing an incurable illness and a road filled with battles - dad is home with us where he will feed off all our energy and continue to “punch on” with his family by his side.
Due to dad’s unforeseen diagnosis and all the medical equipment required to keep dad comfortable at home the financial burden is taking a toll on our family.
We want nothing more than for dad to to be able to celebrate special moments in his children’s and granddaughters’ lives and simply just watching them grow.
Dad is currently in the process of being accepted into a $40,000 trial that is located 4 hours away from his home. This trial has no time frame so it is unknown how long dad will need to cater for accomodation and live away from home.
We are asking for any donation or offer for fundraising - big or small to help give dad every opportunity he can to fight this disease and to keep him at home with his family.
One thing dad has taught us through this so far, is to “Never lose hope and believe in your own strength”.
Thankyou - any share, read or donation is appreciated. ❤️
