In July of 2019, Nathan Gerean tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident.
Many Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials competitors may remember seeing Nathan and his sister Nichole around the pits in 2018 with his father and racer, Tom Gerean.
Tom and Christy are now faced with the tragic situation of having to bury their child. A situation no parent should ever have to face and no parent of a healthy and vibrant child ever prepares for.
I know our “salty family” at Bonneville are all in the final crunch towards race season and we’re all hitting the end of our purse strings, but I also know much we all look out for one another. Tom and Christy define the Bonneville spirit and the fact that they had their children on the salt with them just goes to show how they intended to raise the next generation of Land Speed addicts. I cannot fathom what they are feeling. I cannot begin to explain what they are going through. Im even having trouble processing that the young man I met last August is gone.
None of us can replace what they lost, but if each of us can make a small contribution that could ease the financial burden that undoubtedly comes with a tragedy like this, then we have all done something.
It may be $5 or $50. We’re all on budgets, but anything will help.
