Angela is my lifelong best friend. Matron of honor in my wedding and Katie Evelyn was one of my flower girls. There has not been one step, or misstep, she hasn’t walked me through.
She and Torrey’s son, Nathan, has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. It’s a rare autoimmune disease where you can become paralyzed. Nathan is in bed paralyzed from basically the neck down. He is currently at St. Dominic’s Neuro ICU in Jackson on a BiPAP breathing machine at night and a cannula for oxygen during the day. Less than 2 weeks ago, he was a freshman at Ole Miss, enjoying his fraternity, social, and academic life. And in a matter of days, his entire family’s life was halted to a stop and desperate measures had to be taken to keep him breathing and well. His brother, Wade, and sister, Katie Evelyn, are trying to be here and still work as much as possible. Torrey and Angela have not worked and probably will not for the foreseeable future. If you know them, you know they live pretty private lives, managing a farm, teaching your babies at school, and of course, selling those delicious cookies. This is not something anyone ever imagined. The recovery is slow, hard, and tedious. Nathan will most likely not return to Ole Miss this semester. He will have to endure months of therapy to learn how to do everything all over and will not be returning to college this semester.  And he will do it and do it well. He’s a strong young man. Please consider giving to this precious family to help cover bills, travel, hotel stays, and medical expenses.

And most of all, please pray for them all daily.
