Nathan "Chico" & His Family

**UPDATE**
December 4th
Hey everyone! Nathan is doing well and is currently in a rehabilitation centre for spinal cord therapy. He is feeling very ambitious and motivated to walk again!

November 19th
Thank you all for your generous donations & support, this is greatly appreciated by Nathan and his family! Nathan is recovering well and he says that his pain is manageable. As for lower body mobility, surgeons have notified Nathan that the bullet had gone through his spine and unfortunately said, “things are not looking good”. As devastating as this is to hear, the surgeon says that it is still too early to know anything for sure. Nathan is still keeping strong and determined to walk again. Nothing God can do is impossible and Nathan is relying on our prayers and support for his healing.

Hi everyone, Nathan is now currently breathing on his own and off the ventilator. He is talking & communicating well and making improvements. Nathan is also being moved from Trauma & Neurosurgery unit down to the ICU.

It will be a long road to recovery, but with everyone’s love and support he will get there. Thank you all so much.

On Friday November, 8th Nathan "Chico" went out with some friends and his younger brother (Aaron) celebrating Aaron's 22nd birthday. After a night out, they were going to go buy food and Nathan saw a group of people arguing. Nathan being the caring person that he is, went to help diffuse the situation. As he arrived, a gunshot went off and Nathan was tragically hit. He was rushed to the hospital and had emergency surgery and blood transfusion. The bullet went through Nathan's left torso and came out the right upper chest cavity. It hit his spine, spleen, pancreas, and kidney. Nathan suffered internal bleeding, an injured lung and had his spleen, kidney and half of his pancreas removed. As of right now (November 10th) Nathan has no mobility in his legs. Nathan is currently in the ICU with a ventilator and is responsive when woken up.

Anyone who knows Nathan understands how loving, caring, loyal and funny he is. Nathan is someone who will make anyone feel better, no matter how he is feeling. He is loved by so many people as he is an amazing son, brother, uncle (Tio), and friend. We all are so grateful to God for sparing Nathan's life and keeping him here with us today as he truly does make the world a better place.

Nathan is the type of person who would drop anything to help someone in need, and now it is our turn to do the same for him. These funds will go to his mother, Brenda, who will need financial support during this difficult time in order to pay for transportation to and from the hospital, parking fees, food, medical bills that will not be insured, etc. I am asking you today, to please help my family not have to worry about money and solely focus on Nathan and his recovery. Anything counts.

We thank you all so so so much. Please leave words of encouragement for Nathan and his family in the comments below.
