It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of a beloved father, Nathan Aaron James Woodhead. He leaves behind three beautiful daughters, aged 9, 7, and 6, whose lives have been forever changed by this devastating loss.
Telling the girls that their dad had passed away was one of the hardest moments our family has ever faced. As they try to understand life without ever seeing him again, we are now faced with another painful reality. There are no funds available to give Nathan a proper funeral or send-off. We have had no choice but to create this GoFundMe. We have been told that my auntie, the children’s mother and Nathan’s ex-partner/wife is responsible for covering the funeral costs alone. Without help, Nathan will not receive a funeral, and his beautiful girls will not get the chance to say goodbye or find the closure every child deserves when losing a parent.
No child should have to grieve their father while also wondering why they can’t say goodbye in a meaningful way. We want these girls to have the chance to honour their dad, to have a place to say goodbye, and to know that he was deeply loved and respected by so many. There is some comfort in knowing that Nathan is now at peace with his son, who was sadly born sleeping in 2015. Losing his baby boy broke his heart after longing to be a father for so many years, and we take comfort in believing they are together again. We are asking for help to cover funeral and memorial expenses so Nathan can be laid to rest with dignity. Any funds raised beyond immediate funeral costs will go toward supporting his daughters during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation, share, and kind word means more than we can express. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others.
Thank you for helping us give their father the farewell he deserves, and for showing his little girls that they are not alone.
