Suzie Bishop Medical Support Fund
Donation protected
On Monday, December 2 Suzie suffered from an aneurysm in her brain. She was rushed to the hospital and after two days of being in a medically induced coma, including day of no stimulation (Nathan could not touch her or talk to her) and going through a procedure to drain the excess blood from her brain and place two stints in her head. Suzie is one of the few lucky ones that #1 lived and #2 so far doesn't have any lasting affects from the aneurysm. She is not out of the woods, she has to stay in the Neuro Critical Care unit for AT LEAST 14 days since there is a 35% chance of a second aneurysm within that 14 day time period of the first one. The chances of surviving a second aneurysm are very slim.
Nathan and Suzie have four amazing daughters, two of which have two different auto immune diseases (pretty rare to have two different ones in the same family), Ulcerative Colitis and Diabetes. Rosemarie who has UC is no stranger to hospitals and at times has made a second home at Primary Children's Hospital for various surgeries, procedures and flair ups. Jane who was diagnose with diabetes a few years ago has been a trooper with the finger pokes, insulin shots, and restricted diet, but had to be rushed to the hospital a few months ago after her blood sugars got too low and she was unresponsive. On top of all of this, insulin is CRAZY expensive. Needless to say Nathan and Suzie are VERY familiar with medical bills.
To top it all off, Nathan is a geologist specializing in mines, and has been working as a contractor in a mine in Idaho, living in-between Utah and Idaho for the past few years. That is no longer possible with Suzie's new sensitive condition and the low chance of survival rate if another aneurysm does happen. He needs to work from home to be a care taker and keep a watchful eye on Suzie and signs of any other brain issues. This will be their new normal, but for now until he can find work that can keep him home, it means they have no income coming in while even more medical bills are piling up by the day.
Anything you can donate would be helpful and appreciated by this loving couple. Nathan has taken on the roll of both parents while trying to wrap his head around the reality of the situation and the scary possibilities down the road while trying to stay strong for his girls and figuring our their new normal and staying positive about their financial needs and looming medical bills.
Thank you!
