My name is Tyna. I am a mother, grandma, and a family problem fixer. Today, I find myself at a loss with answers and a feeling of helplessness. I am reaching out because I need as much help as I can to support my son Nathan, his wife Aurora, and their growing family.

Nathan and Aurora are expecting their second child, a baby boy, L.J., who will arrive in July. In February, during one of Aurora's OB-GYN appointments, our joy turned to concern when the baby was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. After numerous tests and consultations, we learned that their precious baby boy has a condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, commonly referred to as TET + MAPCAs.

Aurora is required to deliver in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the specialized care that L.J. will need. She will have to relocate three weeks before delivery and remain there for L.J.’s aftercare. This journey will be filled with many surgeries throughout his life, necessitating frequent trips back and forth to Salt Lake. The diagnosis has undeniably impacted our plans, dreams, and daily lives. The future of L.J. remains uncertain, and each day brings new challenges and worries.

Alongside the emotional strain, there is significant concern for funding, housing, and travel expenses. We have reached out to various organizations for assistance with some of the costs, but the need remains substantial. I am reaching out to ask for additional support for Nathan and Aurora, who also have an 18-month-old daughter to care for.

We are grateful for the help that is beginning to come in, but we believe that more assistance will be necessary to navigate this difficult path. Any support, whether financial, emotional, or logistical, would be immensely appreciated and would truly be a blessing to our family.
