Edit: As of September 23rd, My project has been completed. Thank you everyone that has donated, this project would not have been possible without your support, and thank you everyone that attended my project to help out. Now I can take my next step to becoming a Eagle Scout.

Edit: Thank you all for donating, I have decided to increase the target goal to $1,600 to pay for the other permanent garbage can enclosure because originally my school was going to pay for the whole project. But there has been a budget cut due to COVID-19 so the school could only fund half of my project to conserve funds for other repairs the school needs. Since I have reached my goal which was $800 for 1 permanent garbage can enclose in only 1 hour, I decided to pay for the second one though your kind donations to help my school with their budget. All the donations that exceed the goal will be donated directly to my school. Thank you again!
My name is Nathan Ammenti, I am a Boy Scout in Troop 27 in San Mateo California. One of the requirements to receive the Eagle rank, which is the highest rank in Boy Scouts, is to plan and execute a service project that will benefit the community. I have chosen to do a project at my former high school, Summit Preparatory Charter High School in Redwood City.
I am raising money to buy materials to make permanent garbage can enclosures at my former high school in Redwood City. This is my Eagle Scout Project and I am super excited to be able to contribute something nice to my school. Currently there are no outside garbage cans at my school and the teachers have to carry out garbage bins for break and lunch and bring them back in every day. Since the garbage cans are not outside 24/7, students and other people using the picnic area tend to leave their garbage there because they either forget to dispose of their garbage or don't feel like carrying their garbage around.

I am hoping that making and installing permanent enclosures will keep the outside yard of my school a cleaner place for people to enjoy and to help the teachers because they won't have to clean up as much.
Thank you for helping me keep my school clean.
The finished product is going to look close to this design I made in TinkerCad. There will be a bin that goes inside the enclosure that has a lid
