NATHAN HODGES CANCER FUND, POWELL, TN
PRAY! STAND UP TO CANCER: Nathan needs you to help with his fight!

Nathan is my pastor’s son (Dr. Stephen Hodges of Oneida, TN/ Maryville, TN). I am moved by the struggles of this sweet family. I decided to do something ---Will you join me?

Nathan Hodges is 34 years old and married to Terri for 9 years. Nathan and Terri have two children, Lillian and Tucker. Nathan is a great father and loves to spend time with his kids and supporting them in their activities. Nathan is adventuresome, fun loving and embraces life to the fullest. He has never met a stranger; a friend to everybody he meets. Nathan is a Veteran of the United States Air National Guard where he served for 6 years and then served 2 years in the Reserves. Nathan is an avid sports fan and loves to watch football, basketball and WWE. You can find him on the golf course, which he uses, this as his “thinking place.” Nathan has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He has previously worked in the security field at Morgan County Detention Facility and he has worked with at-risk youth. Kroger Company is now his employer. Nathan and Terri are members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN.

On May 17, 2018, Nathan had surgery to biopsy a mass on his left vocal cord. In the weeks after, Nathan was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer and was prescribed 35 rounds of radiation, which began on June 18, 2018. Nathan and Terri face this disease treatment process with little savings to cover their deductible or subsequent days of lost work. As an employee of Kroger Company, he does not have paid personal leave benefits at this time.

This family is walking in faith that they will be able to pay for the treatments that is already underway. Since Nathan’s job is physically demanding, his doctor has recommended he miss approximately 6 weeks of work. This veteran who has served so many others, now desperately needs our help.

Support is the key! Your love, prayers and emotional support are so important to this family. Any donation will help and much gratitude will fill their hearts-$5 or $20, $30 or more --- helps them offset the medical bills. To those of us who are strong, healthy and blessed—I ask that you join me in blessing them. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be –a young family with a mountain of difficulties to face. Thank you!
