If you're lucky enough to know Nathalie Hanchett-Crissy, you know she is vibrant, full of faith and love, funny (sometimes even corny) and how kind and loving she is of everyone!  She was so happy to marry the love of her life, Luke Crissy. You also know her pride and joy is being a Mother! Her love for them is immeasurable and started long before they were conceived. She had some miscarriages, that led to her becoming diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder and to carry a baby full term she would have to have a daily injections. She or Luke had to give her an injection every single day of each pregnancy.  She was relieved that she could have children...both Luke and Nathalie committed to doing whatever it would take to grow their family and they were so blessed with Isabella Rose and Gabriel David. I knew Nathalie was strong, when I watched what she had to do to become a mother!
Nathalie was blessed and honored to stay home until their children were both in school. Both Nathalie and Luke were very active and involved with their children. Nathalie felt even more blessed that she was able to work for years at their kids school in Avon NY and absolutely loved it. Luke has always worked hard for his family and supported them in every way, from coaching Gabriel's little league team to taking his family on hikes and family vacations, house projects and even planning date nights! You couldn't spend time with this family and not feel that they had strong faith and strong love for their family and friends.
Then tragedy struck on February 27th, 2022 when 17 year old Gabriel took his life. This was devastating for Nathalie, Luke, Isabella and all of their family and friends. Gabriel hadn't shown any signs of this to his family or friends in any way, leaving grief and a void of such a kind and loving young man. This is when I learned how strong my best friend truly was...the next year was full of firsts for this family as we all had to learn to live life without Gabriel, it wasn't easy for any of them, but ultimately it made their family stronger as they grieved together and learned how to help each other and communicate what they needed from each other to stay strong. Their faith helped them get through the first year and their faith continued to strengthen as they worked on healing individually and as a family.
13 months later another tragedy hit the Crissy family, Nathalie at 53 years young was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They had found dozens of tumors on multiple organs and lymph nodes. She was becoming jaundice and required over a week stay in the hospital for biopsies and a surgical procedure to pass bile from her liver to her intestines. At this point, aprox 3 weeks ago (and the week of her 54th birthday) she was sent home on hospice.
Luke and Nathalie do not ask for help, in fact the would deny it as they're much more comfortable giving help to others.
Luke, Isabella and Nathalie's sister, Erika are tending to her 24/7 and have been doing so since she was diagnosed.
Nathalie's only wish is that her family is taking care of. That Luke and Bella are healthy and happy.
Anyone that has suffered any serious medical issues understand the toll that  reduced income to care for your loved one along with the increase in bills to treat and keep that loved one comfortable takes on an already hard situation.
100% of any donations will go to Luke to pay their high co-pays and then if there is any donations above that, he can make a donation to the national suicide prevention hotline in their honor. This is what Nathalie was committed to doing, to prevent even one person of feeling the loss that they are still grieving.
We don't know how much time Nathalie has left here, but Luke, Bella and Erika are committed to her care. Please respect their privacy as they're spending all their time with Nathalie right now. Her declining health has shocked us all in the intensity and speed of this horrible cancer.
So many people have reached out and asked how they can help Nathalie, Luke and Isabella...  this is the best way to help them with mounting medical bills and having to arrange a second devastating loss in such a short period. 100% of all donations will go directly to Luke.
