Hello folks,
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I am reaching out to you to seek your support in raising funds for my IBCLC board exam this fall September 2023, and for my midwifery education. A little bit about me, I am first generation Queer Indigenous full-spectrum traditional birth worker, Certified lactation educator, Student Midwife, and student Lactation Consultant. I am born and raised in Tongva Land known as Los Angeles. I am passionate about serving our Los Angeles community and it is my sincere desire to make a lasting impact on the lives of families in need of support.
As a dedicated lactation consultant student, my ultimate aim is to provide invaluable support and guidance to mothers/birthing people and families throughout their breast/chestfeeding journey. I firmly believe that breast/chestfeeding is a fundamental component of nurturing the mother’s/birthing person and the child’s physical and emotional well-being. Through my work, I strive to empower families, offering them the guidance and care they need to make informed choices and experience the profound benefits of breast/chestfeeding.
In addition to my role as a lactation consultant student, I am also a full-time midwife student. This dual path is driven by my unwavering commitment to ensuring that every individual receives comprehensive and compassionate healthcare throughout their lifetime. Pursuing midwifery education allows me to expand my knowledge and skills, equipping me to provide holistic care to women and their families during the transformative stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond.
At this critical juncture in my journey, financial support plays a pivotal role in my ability to achieve certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and continue my midwifery education. The fees associated with the IBCLC board exam, study materials, and educational expenses significantly burden my limited resources as a student.
I humbly ask you to kindly consider assisting me in raising the necessary funds to fulfill these aspirations. By contributing to my IBCLC board exam and midwifery education fund, you will be directly investing in the well-being of our community. Your support will enable me to acquire the knowledge and credentials needed to provide expert lactation counseling, ensuring that mothers/ birthing people have access to evidence-based information and personalized care. Furthermore, your generosity will have a profound impact on the lives of countless families, empowering them to experience the physical and emotional benefits that successful breast/chestfeeding and comprehensive midwifery care bring.
I am sincerely grateful for any support you can offer, regardless of its size. Your contribution, whether financial or by spreading awareness of my cause, will make a meaningful difference in my journey. Together, we can cultivate a community where every family has access to the support they require, allowing them to make informed choices and flourish in their parenting journey.
About my journey:
My journey started when I became a mother at the age of 16, after having my son and experiencing a traumatic birth experience, I had this fire ignite within me that ignited my purpose in birth work. I started my journey into the medical field 12 years ago when I became a medical assistant, I have dedicated the past 5 years to working in the Reproductive endocrinology field as an IVF coordinator working closely with families/ individuals starting their families through natural ovulation cycles, IUI (Intrauterine insemination), IVF ( In vitro fertilization), FET ( Frozen embryo Transfer). I took my first doula training with DONA International and decided to take a deeper dive with a 6-month doula training. I then began my lactation consultant journey pathway 3 and started working with Breastfeed LA working closely with the clinical director as their TA in our Lactation education cohorts. I had the great honor to complete a part of my clinical hours at Eisner Women's Health a community clinic in downtown LA that is partnered with California and MLK Hospital. Currently. I am in phase 1 of my midwifery journey, currently enrolled at Midwives College of Utah for my Bachelor of Science in Midwifery. I am a Midwife resident at Mind Body Birth and wellness center where I am working closely with my preceptor and other student midwives in the heart of downtown LA providing safe-centered midwifery care.
With much Gratitude and appreciation,
Nathalie
