Nathalie Mukudi Casas' Miracle Fund
Donation protected
Nathalie Mukudi Casas has such special gifts which she shares with anyone she meets, from family members to a stranger in the grocery store. Encouragement, faith, laughter, and a great sense of humor all contribute to make her so special to so many. But it is her strength and will to live for her husband and children that are most special to 43 year old Nathalie right now.
Nathalie was diagnosed with a rare form of Stage 3 metastatic invasive lobular breast cancer in May 2020, and it has taken 6 months for us to finally get her the care she desperately needs. She started a rigorous chemotherapy program yesterday, November 10, which she will continue for 5 months in order to shrink multiple tumors before doctors perform a double mastectomy. It is going to be an uphill battle, but there is nothing that can keep Nathalie from her healing miracle. She has complete faith in God and her family and friends on 3 continents. She has excellent doctors now at City of Hope in Los Angeles, but we will need all the financial help we can get in order to get her treatment and help the family pay for expenses. Her children are 13, 7, and 3, so her husband Isaias will need lots of help, which is easier said than done in a pandemic.
Please donate whatever you can, whether it's the equivalent of a Starbuck's or some grocery money. Any amount, large or not so large, would be so greatly appreciated. More details about my daughter are in the next section. From all of us in Nathalie's family, thank you and God bless you.
For those of you who don't know Nathalie personally, she was born and raised in Lubumbashi, Congo RDC. She came to the USA when she was 28. Nathalie became my third daughter when her baby Neriah was 10 days old. I was the only person who spoke French in a 3000 person congregation, and when she came looking for help in June 2007, Pastor Desiree Paulk happened to be at my house when the church called. It was a divine day, to say the least! Nathalie was so sick from the birth of Neriah that it was touch and go for 3 weeks while she was hospitalized with an infection. I called Nathalie's mother, Léonie, in Congo, and promised her that I would be Nathalie's mom and take care of Neriah until Nathalie was better. I said that I knew she would do the same for my daughters if roles were reversed. Thus began our wonderful adventure and I was blessed with a new daughter, a first granddaughter, and a new extended family in Congo. Since my biological daughters, Margaux and Mélanie are half French, Nathalie felt right at home, and Neriah gained 2 aunties.
Nathalie met and married a wonderful man, Isaias, and they had a baby girl, Naomi, in 2013, and a baby boy, Noah, in 2017. Isaias' family welcomed her into their hearts, and Nathalie became an active member in their church family as well. That's one of the most wonderful things about Nathalie: her open heart. She has been a foster mom right up until the doctor said she absolutely could not continue. She took me in after my traumatic divorce, when our roles were reversed and I was the woman in need. She is always willing to babysit someone else's children, or welcome Congolese relatives. As Nathalie puts it, "Mum, what good is going to church if you do not do what God says to do? To welcome everybody." Amen to that!! Nathalie's close friends include Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, and anyone who just needs a hug. It is who she is: a real embodiment of Love. So now, our task is to take away the financial burden so she can focus (for once) on herself and her healing. Please help us in this task. On behalf of our family, thank you.
