Nate's financial hardship A Family's Plea

Donation protected
Update: As of July 14, 2025 Nate is slowly starting to heal.
However, he has not yet been released to return to work and has lost all feeling from his elbow to the shoulder from the damage caused from the bear bit.
He still has internal stitches to hold the muscles together that were torn with the bear bite. His doctor has said he will require multiple surgeries to repair his muscle and physical therapy to help regain strength in his arm.
This has been a very challenging and traumatic situation which has not only affected him, but his coworkers, family and friends. With the loss of his income he is behind on his monthly bills and the medical bills have started to come. His hospital stay was 7 days, while there ge was given IV antibiotics every 2 hours. He was discharged on oral antibiotics which he is still taking. Nate is a hard worker and it is hard where he can’t support his family. He is having a hard time sleeping for the fear of the bear. He will be put in trauma therapy to help with the fear and nightmares. We as a family want to thank those that have been able to donate and help out with this situation. Questions feel free to look me up on Facebook and send me a message.
Thank you

update as for 6-24-2025
Nate went in to the hospital Wednesday 6-18-2025 with high fevers up to 104 degrees. He spent 7 days on iv antibiotics. While he was being treated for an infection in his arm, he required 3 surgeries. One friday night to remove the infection, Saturday to install a vac to remove more of the infection and damaged muscles and one again monday morning. He was released from the hospital on oral antibiotics while he continues to recover.

Nate is currently unable to return to work and provide for his family. This has been hard on his wife and his children. Nate nor his family except such a tragic event and the loss of income has left a hardship for his little family.

Nate is not one to ask for help frim others, he is the one that would rather be on the giving side of helping others. This has been extremely hard for him to need help.

his parents and siblings are doing everything they can to assist and have taken his two young children until he recovers and to remove pressure from his wife as she is trying to work and care for his needs.

Nate Peterson, a construction worker, is recovering in a second hospital transfer after being attacked by a 300-pound black bear last Tuesday evening, June 17th, at 10:00 pm. He had been building a cabin in Bryce Woodlands, Utah during the day and sleeping on a cot outside at night.

Late that night, the bear approached as he was sleeping. The bear hit the side of the cot, then continued the attack by pawing Nate’s flesh and biting deeply into his left arm. The arm sustained major muscle damage, requiring surgery.

Nate’s wound became infected, which required the transfer to the second hospital, where he is expected to have two surgeries and stay for several days.

This means hospital, medical attention, and surgical costs will be daunting.

Nate has a wife and three children. Needless to say, they are traumatized and overwhelmed with fear, grief, and worry. His family is asking for financial donations to help with rising costs for medical treatment. Your kindness is appreciated more than words can express. Thank you for any help you can give.
