If you're here then you've either been to NCSA, are a friend of Nate Park's (or a friend of a friend), or you are just a really awesome person that wants to help another awesome person.
Nate was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in the summer of 2013 (6 months after his wedding). He went through treatment and was considered in remission, but it came back in the spring of 2016. He went through a lot of different treatments in Pasadena this past year but nothing really worked. His health was declining and he was having bad side effects of the cancer so Nate and his wife found a study in Seattle that looked promising. They went to Seattle and Nate had to pass several tests before receiving his T-cell infusion which by a slight margin he did.
For those of you who know Nate, you know how private he is... Nate and his wife Daria have been dealing with his ongoing battle with cancer without any fanfare for the past year.
Sadly, beyond the physical and emotional toll, the financial burden on Nate and Daria has been devastating. Last year, one of Nate's friends put together a gofundme fundraiser which miraculously raised $32,758 (from a goal of $5000). From that campaign, on presenting Nate and Daria the funds: "To say that they were overwhelmed with gratitude is a vast understatement."
However, the out-of-pocket costs for Nate's treatment, the relocation costs to Seattle, and their ongoing monthly bills have now put two incredible people in a financially critical situation.
We are asking to please give as much as you are able. If you can't spare much then we please ask you to share the link to the gofundme page with as many people as you know. Every little bit will help.
Time is of the essence, as we want to get this gift to Nate and Daria by next weekend (Feb. 12) to help ease the strain of worrying about their finances, so they can focus on Nate's health and recovery.
All best,
Tyler and Jersey
